After a wonderful summer and a beautiful fall, Hafið Bláa has shut its doors for the winter. We are open for groups and northern lights tours, and we will open again for lunch and dinner reservations in February 2020. We look forward to seeing you then.

We’re sorry to say goodbye to the 24-hour daylight. It’s been an incredibly beautiful summer here on the south coast, with plenty of warm, sunny days. But we’re excited about the return of the northern lights!
We will keep our summer opening hours of 12:00-21:00 through the end of September. Watch the sunset over the ocean as you enjoy your dinner and wait for the show to start.

It’s that time of year again! The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer. Visitors to Iceland in the winter are excited about the possibility of seeing the aurora borealis.
Located 40 minutes’ drive from Reykjavík, Hafið Bláa is surrounded by water (great for photographers!) and far from city lights. The restaurant is now closed for the season. For groups, we do open later with at least 1 hours’ notice. Contact us for details.

On Thursday, our winter opening hours went into effect. The days are getting shorter, the darkness is coming sooner, and there are fewer hours in the day to enjoy our wonderful view. So we are closing earlier as well. We are open 12:30-18:00 Thursday-Monday, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We are, however, always open for groups and special events. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to eat or stop with a northern lights tour to offer coffee and baked goods to your guests.
